Working as a sales recruiter, I loved the role as a high school science teacher. But I'd become used to working two jobs for extra income, and figured there wouldn't be any more. I saw teaching as a way to find that difference in the world and recruiting as a way to fund that situation.
There were a lot of recruiters around me that seemed to focus on placing new reps and making money. They didn't worry about whether a position would be the best move for a candidate, or if the candidate would be the best move for a sales rep in the field. That simply wanted to exploit talent to make money. I was disillusioned. I started to think this way just put the way just put the way just put the way just put the way just put the way my business skills down. I didn't want to be just any recruiter I wanted to be a point of pride. I didn't want to be just any recruiter I wanted my students to remember learning well.
I finally connected the dots as to what teaching and recruiting have in common. During both professional periods (and companies) that need someone to devote energy and dedication to improving their situation and help them reach their goals. Like teaching, recruiting needs people who are honest and professional, who have integrity and are pleasant to be with during the process. Pete works tirelessly, and won't stop until he finds the right match for our organization, and for the candidate who is searching for employment.
